~!@#$%& tree pollen...
It's everywhere! There's an approximately 2.375 inch layer on my car (OK, maybe it's not *quite* that thick, but I swear, my car is now green instead of black), and since I've had my windows and patio door open to enjoy the balmy weather, every single last thing I own...grr! I'm lucky it doesn't trigger any allergic reaction in my else I'd be more than a bit miffed.
Speaking of weather, I really liked it outside today...it's overcast, but absolutely temperate...65 degrees, on the highish side of comfortably humid, and just idyllic to be out in, provided it doesn't cross over into rain.
So to fill in what I missed on yesterday's post, it was a glorious day...weather was almost just the tiniest bit too hot, but sunny, sunny, sunny...a friend even got a little mystery sunburn action when all was said and done. Got a couple things done in the earlier part of the day, shipped off Mikey's iBook, ran to the store, mailed out some stuff, got in on a SD card deal (hopefully), started thinking about doing taxes. Stopped off at AutoZone (possibly the crappiest one on the planet, over on South Blvd.), where I attempted to purchase a couple spark plugs, but instead got pissed off at stupid sales bots and spotted a white trashy Betty Page wannabe. Fun. Spent the afternoon taking a de facto crash course in jet ski de-winterizing, after which the thing started right up (that is, once Skip showed me what I was doing wrong) and ran great. Hope to get to try it out soon, the lake is calling! Off then to the evening's date, had an exceptionally good time, after which I was home and in bed by 6. Ahhh.
Today was somewhat productive, finally finished up with Laura's notebook and iPod, got everything boxed up and ready to go, will stop by the FedEx station and try to wrestle the international airbill. Yay.
Discovery of the week...wait, did I have one of these already? OK, we'll call it band/DJ of the week, goes to Team 9. Mashups are a relatively recent phenomenon, what with the proliferation ond ubiquity of industrial-grade computers and music editing software. I first became aware of them through this article in Wired magazine. Interesting, but I hadn't actually heard any until recently. Then I read about these guys (this guy)? on a blog somewhere and decided to check it out. Good stuff! Of the selections, I recommend the Killers/Corey Hart "Somebody Told Me", Electronic/Ciara "Stepping away with it", Primal Scream/Tweet "Oops, I'm Loaded", to start with, but actually, this list could get pretty extensive...just check them out, most are pretty good. Many of the lyrics are lended credence in my book with having their sometimes questionable original musical backing replaced by better songs. Interesting concept...much potential for crap though.
Mmmmm...Jessica Biel. Yum.
Wow, is it the weekend already? Wherever HAS the week gone?
