Sleep scheduling gone awry...
It started off innocuously enough, stayed up all night, as usual...blog posting 'til around 8ish, after which I got IMed by a couple people I haven't talked to in a while, due primarily to them having jobs and being up in my prime sleeping time. Chatted away for a bit, and before to long it got to be 11:00...started to get hungry, when one of my new friends extends an invitation for lunch. How serendipitous! Dined on typical Chinese lunch fare, had a great conversation, learned some things, had a few laughs, came home, and promptly crashed at around 2pm. Slept for several hours, awoke at I believe 5pm, checked e-mail, replied to a few IMs, went back to sleep around 6. Up again at a little before 10, ate far too much, sat down at the computer, only to have all (well, some) electronic hell break loose.
Apparently, XP decided it needed 10 "crucial updates", so I installed those, and upon the reboot, Winamp is erroring out on the startup...great. So I hit their site, and there's an update that allegedly fixes a "security exploit". Lovely. Download that, install it, but then the skins don't work right, and Firefox seems to be having trouble loading the Nullsoft/Winamp site, then won't load at all. Crap. To make a long story less long, it's now several hours later, and nothing's working right. Going to try and reinstall Winamp, then Firefox, andsee how that goes...if not, a full reload might be in order, but I definitely don't have the patience for all that...grr...
On the plus side, this weekend is shaping up to be both fun and interesting...
Amusing "away message" of the day goes to soon-to-be flight attendant Amy. We chatted a bit earlier in the day, and some time later, I discover that her away message was this:
littlegens (5:25:40 PM): naked and wet.... thinking of gene?
How can something like that not put a smile on a guy's face?
